Legends of Slots: a week with the fantasy collection game

September 13, 2026 · Lukas Vandenberghe

I went into Legends of Slots expecting to delete it after ten minutes. I'm glad I didn't. It's a casual collection game where you spin reels of fantasy symbols — think dragons, swords, glowing potions — and complete themed sets to unlock new worlds. The hook is simpler than it sounds, and that simplicity is kind of the point.

The first thing I noticed was how good it looks. Each world has its own art style and little musical motif, and the symbol animations have a satisfying weight to them. Tapping the spin button and watching a set finally complete gives you a tiny, honest hit of satisfaction.

Controls couldn't be easier. There's one main button, a collection screen, and a map that charts your progress. I played most of it one-handed on the train. Sessions are naturally short, which suits the design — this isn't a game you sit down with for an hour.

If I have a criticism, it's that the core loop doesn't change much. Once you've seen the pattern of collect-unlock-repeat, you've seen it. But as a low-stakes, pick-up-and-put-down game, Legends of Slots does exactly what it sets out to do, and it does it with charm.

My advice: treat it as a palate cleanser between heavier games. Don't marathon it. In short bursts, it's genuinely pleasant.
